MAYOR of Warrington Cllr Mo Hussain hosted a special event at the town hall to launch the town’s poppy appeal.

At the launch event, it was revealed that last year’s event, nationally, had raised over £54 million to support veterans and their families.

Cllr Hussain said: “We were proud to host the Royal British Legion for the launch of the 2025 Poppy Appeal.
“It was a fantastic event attended by veterans, volunteers, councillors, the Deputy Lord-Lieutenant, and other dignitaries. I had the honour of opening the launch with a short speech and purchasing my first poppy of the year.
“A huge thank you to everyone who continues to support the Poppy Appeal and the incredible work of the Royal British Legion in honouring and helping our veterans.”
