LOCAL residents are being urged to attended a number of drop-in sessions next month organised by the team involved in the Grappenhall and Thelwall Nieghbourhood Plan.
Organisers say the Neighbourhood Plan is about making sure their parish reflects what the local community want, not just what developers or Warrington Council decides. Local people have already said they want a real say on types of new housing, protecting green space, heritage and infrastructure across the Parish — this is their chance.
Once approved, this Plan will become part of local planning policy. That means the Council must take it into account when making decisions about planning applications. In other words, it gives local resident a stronger voice in how development takes place.
A spokesperson for the Grappenhall and Thelwall neighbourthood Plan said: “We can’t stop new housing at Thelwall Heys or the South East Warrington Urban Extension, as those sites are already approved in the Warrington Local Plan. But we can influence how change happens, making sure it works for local people and respects the character of our Parish.
“Most importantly, the Neighbourhood Plan will set out what matters most to us, protecting the things we value, while planning for a thriving, sustainable, and inclusive future.
“We will be heading into the consultation in November 2025, and will be hosting Drop-in Sessions where you can find out more:
