TWO fire crews were called out following reports of a vehicle fire on the hard shoulder of the M56 at Warrington.
At 11:44 crews from Stockton Heath and Lymm attended the incident at Junction nine near Appleton Thorn.
Crews attended one vehicle well alight on the hard shoulder of the M56. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used on hose reel to extinguish the fire and dampen down the vehicle.
A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots. The incident was then handed over to National Highways.
