PLANS for extensions to a single-storey building in the Buttermarket Street conservation area have been submitted to Warrington Borough Council.
The scheme involves a building known as The Factory, in Smith Street near to the Grade 2 Listed St Mary’s RC Church and the Locally Listed Borough Arms pub.
But the Factory building itself is said to be of no historic interest.
The scheme involves a first floor extension to the building and new access stairs to provide existing occupiers DW Hargreaves Electrical Contractors with dedicated office space.
The applicants say the development will not have any impact on the nearby Listed buildings.
Currently two members of staff work from the site but the development would see this increase to six.
Borough council planning officers are currently studying the proposals.
