A push bike adapted to reach speeds of over 40 mph was seized by police at Great Sankey, Warrington.
Officers were on patrol in the Great Sankey area when they spotted a bike travelling at an excessive speed on Whittle Avenue, and the rider was observed not to be using the pedals.
The male was stopped a short distance later.
Checks showed the push bike had been modified with a battery pack, throttle and a power wheel replacing the chain, meaning it was capable of being powered by the motor alone. The push bike was able to travel over 40mph, making it illegal to be ridden on the roads.
The bike has been seized, and the rider was reported for having no insurance or a driving licence.
