Short film to promote local mental health support on World Mental Health Day

It’s World Mental Health Day tomorrow, October 10, and this year to support the day a special film is being shown in two town centre locations.

Warrington Borough Council, in collaboration with Warrington in Mind, will screen a short film, ‘Community in Mind,’ to promote the local mental health support groups here in Warrington.
The 30-minute-long film will be shown on loop from 10am until 3pm, in Warrington Market and Old Market Square (Outside Golden Square).
During the day, residents will also be able to find local mental health support groups and services in Warrington Market and the Old Market Square (Outside Golden Square). They will be on hand to chat, provide information and answer questions people might have.

Cllr Maureen McLaughlin, Cabinet Member for Health, Wellbeing and Social Care said: “Looking after your mental health is vital and knowing when to seek help for yourself or someone else is just as important. The showing of this short film provides a great opportunity for residents to learn about the services available to them, their friends and family if they need them.
“This year’s theme focuses on the need for mental health support during tough times like wars, natural disasters, and health crises. If you’re struggling, don’t hesitate to talk to loved ones or reach out to mental health services. Staying informed is important, but constant exposure to distressing news can be overwhelming. It’s perfectly okay to take a break for your mental wellbeing.”
