A Ben Hardcastle goal 16 minutes from time was enough for Warrington Rylands to take victory against Guiseley at Nethermoor Park on Tuesday evening.

The pitch was in immaculate condition which always suits Warrington’s style of play.

It would be a challenge to pick out any players as Warrington’s Man of the Match; each and every one put in a full shift, ran for the full 90 minutes, chased every ball and gave ‘The Lions’ little time on the ball.
Back into the Rylands line up was Harrison Wood, on loan again from Blackburn Rovers, and his speedy runs down the right wing created several chances for the travelling side.
With minutes on the clock, George Waring produced a perfect pass from deep in his own half and Alex Kiwomya wrong-footed a defender to cross into the goalmouth. Wood was first to the ball and beat Joe Cracknell in the home goal to put the ball in the net, but the linesman deemed him to have been offside.
Playing against a well-organised side the game was end-to-end and for any neutral spectator was an interesting match. As ‘The Blues’ pushed forward Guiseley were adept at the counter-attack and a long clearance after 15 minutes beat Ryland’s defence, but the Jordan Thewlis’s shot flew high over Luke Pilling’s head.

Still without the injured Matt Regan, Warrington’s defence stood firm, but one of these break-aways found the back of the net. The linesman once again deemed the player to have been offside and the score remained goalless.
Ben Hardcastle has re-found his scoring form and a group of Guiseley players were not enough to prevent him added to his tally. A low shot to the far corner beat the outstretched leg of Cracknell and gave Rylands the lead.
Jake Burton, coming off the bench, created even more chances for the visitors.
Guiseley tried their best to prevent the defeat but Rylands coped admirably and took victory with a clean sheet.
Other results helped Warrington’s position in the league and they moved from 5th up to 2nd.
They will now host Morpeth Town at The Quickline Logistics Arena on Gorsey Lane this Saturday 11th October.
