Small and medium-sized businesses in the Warrington area are being invited to a free event designed to help them strengthen their protection against cybersecurity threats – while also connecting with other local business professionals.

Organised by Sentis Managed Solutions, the event – titled Cybersecurity for SMEs: Protecting Local Businesses – will take place on October 17th from 1pm-4pm at San Lorenzo, Palmyra Square, Warrington. The event is aimed specifically at businesses with between 10 and 1,000 IT users, highlighting the risks cybercrime poses to firms of this size and providing practical tips to bolster defences.
The event will feature presentations, Q&A and expert insights from Sentis MS and their partners Protos Networks and Brigantia. Attendees will enjoy drinks and canapes, as well as having the chance to build new relationships with other business leaders from the area.
“Cyberattacks don’t just happen to the likes of M&S, the Co-op, or major airports like Heathrow. They affect businesses of every size, and SMEs are often the most vulnerable,” said Neil Homer, co-founder and owner of Sentis. “This event is about helping local businesses understand the risks they face and – just as importantly – giving them a chance to connect and share experiences with peers from Warrington’s small business community.”

Official statistics have revealed that over the last year, 43% of UK SMEs reported some form of cyberattack or breach, and recovery costs can run into tens of thousands of pounds. This event will provide clear, easily understandable advice so that attendees are better prepared to protect their data, their reputation and their customers.
Spaces are limited and those interested are advised to book soon to avoid disappointment.
