Flood alert for Mersey Estuary at Warrington due to high tides

A Flood Alert has been issued at the Mersey Estuary in Warrington due to a high tide forecast in the early hours of Tuesday morning, October 7.

Flooding is possible at low lying lands and roads from 00:00 AM at the following locations:
Fiddlers Ferry, peaking around 00:45 AM
Eastford Road, peaking around 01:00 AM
Arpley Bridge, peaking around 01:15 AM

It is possible that river levels may affect Arpley Road under the railway bridge.
Higher than normal tides are expected over the next few days and as a result there may be further alerts/warnings.
Environment Agency incident rooms are open and they are closely monitoring the situation.
Avoid using low lying footpaths and any bridges near local watercourses and do not attempt to walk or drive through flood water.
Flood alert area: Areas at risk include Fiddlers Ferry, Eastford Road, Arpley Bridge, Knutsford Road, Howley, Kingsway North and Westy.
