MEMBERS of Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council dropped in on a local resident to help her celebrate her 100th birthday.
Lydia Kelly, of Glazebury has lived in the village for many years and was one of the main organisers of the local Over 60s Club for more than 20 years.
Parish council chairman Cllr Paul Campbell and councillors Chris Smith and Janet Seddon visited her and presented her with a birthday card and bouquet of flowers on behalf of the whole council.
Cllr Campbell said, “‘What a wonderful lady with a great smile, and it was a great honour to be part of her celebrations. She showed us the special card she received from the King and Queen wishing her well.
“When I asked her what her secret was for such a long life she made us laugh when she answered, ‘I tell myself off every day.’”
