A CHANCE to take over the controls of a locomotive comes when Thelwall and Grappenhall Model Railway Club hold open days on Saturday and Sunday, September 13 and 14.
The event takes place at the club’s headquarters at the rear of Grappenhall Community Centre, in Bellhouse Lane, Grappenhall between 12 noon and 4pm.
Model railway layouts in various gauges will be on show – N Guage, 009 Guage and Tramway, 00 Guage, Digital and Analogue.
Visitors will be able to watch the trains in action – and try driving them as well.
Admission is £2 for adults, £1 for children and free for under fives. There will also be a tombola staff.
The club advise that the layouts are on the first floor, with staircase access only.
