Villagers celebrate 60 years of Thelwall Rose Queen

VILLAGERS celebrated the 60th anniversary of Thelwall Rose Queen with a Heroes & Villains theme.

The 60th Thelwall Rose Queen was Emilia Passey who attends the event every year and was an attendant to her cousin in 2021.
She said: “I am so excited and proud to be taking part this year as Rose Queen.
“Seeing all of the floats, costumes and people from the village involved in the day is such an amazing thing to be part of.

Post event organisers said: “Thankyou  to everyone that came out to make the day amazing.
“Thanks to everyone who joined in the procession, you all looked amazing.
“Thanks to everyone who made cakes, entered competitions and ran a stall on the field.
“Thanks to the Rose Queen, attendants and soldiers, as well as Trish, for crowning this year’s Queen.
“Thanks to Chaigley School and the Parish Hall for the use of the field and the hall.
“Thanks to everyone who helped put the event together from the Rose Queen Committee, the Marshalls and all the people beavering away from dawn to dusk today.
“Thanks to Mike Moss for photographing the event
“Thanks to the lovely people of Thelwall for supporting the event.
“And finally, thanks to the incomparable compère Mike Cooper for 30 amazing years of announcing.”
