ANOTHER successful planning meeting took place recently at Fearnhead Community Centre for this year’s Padgate and Woolston Walking Day.
The annual event, which almost didn’t happen last year until local Cllr. Susan Emery stepped forward and rallied the troops, will return again bigger than ever on Saturday, 21 June.
Due to various issues around marshalling and safeguarding the 2024 walk was smaller than in previous years as not all the churches and schools took part. This year, however, will see it return with all the usual churches and schools participating and even more groups than in previous years. The almost failing in 2024 has resulted in the community rallying around and has also encouraged some additional new groups to participate for the first time.
Planning is in the final stages with churches and schools all having their own marshals in place, and the organising team has marshals enlisted to cover the route and ensure the safety of the event.
