Warrington Wolves confirm departure of Zane Musgrove with immediate effect

WARRINGTON Wolves have today confirmed that Zane Musgrove has left the club by mutual agreement with immediate effect.

In a brief two line statement the club said: “We thank Zane for his contribution during his time at the Wire and wish him well in the next chapter of his career.

The 29-year-old has wasted no time in joining another club, signing for championship side Oldham joining on an 18-month deal with immediate effect after agreeing his departure from Warrington. He could make his debut at Boundary Park on Sunday when Sean Long’s side host Halifax in the Betfred Championship.
The Samoa international prop had joined the Wire ahead of the 2024 season and played in last year’s Challenge Cup final alongside Oldham’s half-back Josh Drinkwater. He had previously made his name in the NRL, starring for South Sydney Rabbitohs, Wests Tigers and St George Illawarra Dragons.
It is understood Warrington decided to cut ties with the forward following a disciplinary matter involving a bust-up with a team-mate. The incident was deemed serious enough for the Wolves to take disciplinary action and terimnate his contract by mutual consent.
With the club already ravaged with injuries ahead of tonight’s Challenge Cup final opponents Hull Kr at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, the Wolves have been linked with Lebanon international Elie El-Zakhem, the former Castleford Tigers forward.
They are already without star players Matty Ashton and Danny Walker while George Williams and Paul Vaughan are both facing a race against time to be fit for Wembley.
