FIREFIGHTERS were alerted after black smoke was seen coming from a wooded area at Rixton, Warrington.
At 14:38, today, Thursday, one crew from Birchwood attended the incident off Manchester Road following a call to black smoke seen coming from a wooded area. They used What3words to locate it and found a fire that had been intentionally lit.
They put it out due to the smoke and used water and a rake to do so.
Earlier in the day at 10:56 one fire crew from Warrington attended a fire in a garden on Bromley Close, Fearnhead, Warrington.
A small fire at the rear of a garden was put out by firefighters using a hose reel. It is believed the fire was started accidentally due to hot ashes.
