Furniture donation helps family kit out their new home

A FURNITURE donation from a house-builder has helped a much-deserving Warrington family kit out their new home after a period of homelessness.

Linden Homes, part of Vistry, was made aware of the family of six through its close relationship with Warrington Youth Zone.
The family was moving into their own home and seeking a fresh start after a period of financial hardship – but they were worried how to furnish their new space to make it suitable for young children.
Linden Homes has donated the family a range of high-quality former show home furniture – including beds and bedding, a sofa and a collection of soft furnishings – to help ease the family’s transition and ensure the new property feels like home.

This is part of Linden’s commitment to supporting the communities near its new Radley Woods at Peel Hall Garden Village development in Warrington. The brand new collection of three, four, and five-bedroom homes will be available later this year.
Dave McNicholl, chief executive at Warrington Youth Zone, said: “When we met this family, we knew there must be something we could do to help alleviate some of the pressure they were feeling. While finally getting their own home was a relief, they were worried about how to furnish it due to their financial constraints.
“We’d like to offer a big thank you to Linden Homes for the thoughtful donations which have made a real difference to the family. We will also continue to provide subsidised childcare and support services to them for the foreseeable future to help with their fresh start.”

Gemma Hardy, managing director at Vistry Merseyside and Cheshire West, commented: “We’re always looking for ways to support local people within the communities surrounding our developments. A key part of this is fostering close relationships with youth groups and similar organisations so we have connections with those who would benefit from our support. This has enabled us to help a local family and give our show home furniture a new lease of life. I hope they enjoy their new home and find greater stability and wellbeing surrounded by comfort and warmth.”
