WARRINGTON, clearly relishing their return to the Cheshire County League, made it five wins from five games with a 104-run victory over Middlewich at Walton Lea.
Batting first, they hit 255-9, Brad McIntosh top-scoring with 65, opener Liam Jenkins hitting 58 and James Lewis 47 not out.
The visitors were all out for 151 in the 38th over, Chai Gadepelli taking 3-34, Ashley Scholes 2-19 and Asmir Ali 2-35.
Warrington sit comfortable at the top of the division three table, 12 points ahead of their nearest rival.
Grappenhall’s dismal start to the season continued as they went down by 119 runs to Sale at Broad Lane.
The visitors amassed a daunting total of 356-6 in 50 overs, punishing Grappers’ bowlers.
Ross Arrowsmith took 3-55 and Zak Judge 2-74.
Faced with an almost impossible task, Grappers’ batters tried to dig in. Opener Sam Trumper fought hard to top score with 98 in 174 minutes and Judge compiled a resolute 51 not out with 89 minutes.
But wickets fell regularly and the side were all out in the 48th over for 237 – a total that would have been enough to victory in most matches. As it was, it left Grappers at the bottom of the division one table and still looking for their first win.
In the Cheshire League division one, Lymm Oughtrington Park went down by six wickets at home to Bredbury St Marks.
Batting first, they hit 138-9 in 45 overs, Chris Oakes top scoring with 38 and H Carter hitting 33.
The visitors got the runs in 38 overs, for the loss of four wickets.
In division two, Appleton lost by seven wickets hosting Kingsley.
Appleton hit 195 -7, opener Martin Cooper top-scoring with 40 and L Mannion 34 not out. Kingsley hit off the runs for the loss of three wickets, with the Appleton bowlers struggling to make an impression.
In division three, Glazebury lost by nine wickets at Burton despite hitting an impressive 211-9.
Ben Marote hit 53, Wayne Hargreaves 41and Anthony Meulman 31 as Glazebury batted first. But the Wirral side lost only one wicket reaching their target
