MAYOR of Warrington Wendy Johnson traded civic duties to take part in a ‘Supermarket Sweep’ style trolley-dash at Latchford Londis to support local homeless charity Room at the Inn.

The Mayor of Warrington, had 60 seconds to dash around Latchford Londis, on Thelwall Lane, to fill her basket with as many items as possible which are to be donated to Room at the Inn, a Warrington-based charity that provides shelter, support, and essential services to individuals experiencing homelessness, offering a safe space and helping them rebuild their lives with dignity and care.
The fun event was organised by the shop’s owner, along with delivery app Snappy Shopper, with Wendy filling her basket with goodies such as bread and butter and some delicious cans of Pepsi max-totalling an amazing £84.92.
After completing the mad dash, Wendy said: “They are a charity that support the homeless and homelessness. They provide food and meals during the day, they also provide accommodation overnight.
“They support with things like washing and all sorts of other services tie in.”
“It is such a fantastic charity doing such fantastic work, thank you from the bottom of my heart for getting us along to take part!”
