Up to five weeks of road closures for road resurfacing at Appleton

UP to five weeks of road closures are set to come into force at Appleton, Warrington, later this month (May) for road resurfacing works.

The works are scheduled to take place from 7 pm to 1 am to minimise traffic disruption and will involve Windmill Lane, Quarry Lane and Cambridge Gardens, Appleton.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which is as follows:
Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: Windmill Lane from its junction with Windmill Close to its junction with Quarry Lane; Field Lane from its junction with Windmill Lane for 50 metres; Cambridge Gardens from its junction with Windmill Lane for 25 metres; Quarry Lane from its junction with Windmill Lane to its junction with London Road.
Temporary Suspension of The Borough of Warrington (Quarry Lane) (One Way) Order 2009 in its entirety.
The Order will be effective from 26th May 2025. The restrictions are for a period of 5 weeks, between 7pm and 1am, however, will be in place as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route for Windmill Lane/Quarry Lane will be via Red Lane, Kingsley Drive, Warren Drive, London Road and vice versa. The restrictions are required for Carriageway Resurfacing.
