THREE fire crews were called out to battle a fire in a treeline threatening to spread to a domestic property at Sankey Bridges, Warrington.
At 16:57 yesterday, Sunday, crews from from Penketh, Stockton Heath and Widnes were called to reports of a building fire on Liverpool Road, Warrington. They were confronted with a fire in the treeline alongside a domestic property.
Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel, with support from a covering jet, to put the fire out.
The fire is believed to have started accidentally after spreading from a brazier which was alight in the property and then spread to the nearby treeline, slightly affecting the property itself.
In another incident at 16:01 firefighters extinguished a fire involving magazines and a trolley which was started deliberately in Horrocks Lane, Warrington.
Then at 16:21 firefighters put out a garden fire involving a couch in Bardsley Avenue. Given the proximity of the couch to the property, they checked the premises over with a thermal imaging camera.
Then at 18:15 one crew from Warrington attended reports of a fire in woodland off Rudloe Court, Padgate.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish around 10 square metres of woodland, thought to have been set alight deliberately. Anyone with information should call Cheshire Police on 101.
