MUSIC fans were dancing in the aisles as the ELO Tribute Show made a triumphant return to Warrington’s Parr Hall on Saturday evening.
With a catalogue of hits in honour of ELO’s Jeff Lynne, the set list provided a roll of honour to some of the greatest tunes from the 70s and 80s backed up by a stunning laser and lights show.
By the time the show started to reach its climax with ELO’s anthem “Mr Blue Sky” almost everyone in the sell-out crowd were on their feet, with many dancing in the aisles.
It would probably make sense to have the stalls standing only when the band returns in October next year.
When tickets go on sale in the near future, make sure you book early, as I’m sure pretty much everyone present will be back for more!
The show provided a great way to kick-start the Bank Holiday weekend.
Led by internationally acclaimed musician Brian Cummins, a scouser with a Brummie accent, the stunning ELO Tribute Show celebrates the music of Jeff Lynne and Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) with a band of amazing musicians, including a string section. Being near to home Brian declared the Warrington audience as one of the loudest around!
It was just hit after hit with songs like ‘Evil Woman’, ‘Don’t Bring Me Down’, ‘Telephone Line’, ‘Sweet Talkin Woman’, ‘Turn To Stone’, ‘Wild West Hero’, ‘The Diary of Horace Wimp’, ending with ‘Roll over Bethoven!”
This was my second experience of this show – I hope to complete my hat-trick next year!

A standing ovation for the band
