New road hump planned to encourage walking and cycling

0

A new road hump is being planned to give pedestrians and cyclists access to Winwick Road at Orford, Warrington.

As part of the A49 Bus Service Improvement Plan Scheme and to encourage walking and cycling, it is proposed that the western extent of Corbet Street, Orford will be ramped up from the carriageway to footway level to provide an additional link to A49.
This ramp will also serve a minor service road which extends in a southerly direction to a sub-station at the rear of some adjacent properties on Corbet Avenue and Ireland Street.
Highway planners say the aim is to promote and encourage walking and cycling.
