Fire crews tackle fire at mid-terraced property

THREE fire crews and the aerial ladder from Lymm were called out to tackle a fire at a mid-terraced property at Orford, Warrington.

At 16:27 yesterday, Tuesday, crews from Penketh, Birchwood, and one fire engine and the aerial ladder platform from Lymm attended the terraced property on Cyril Street.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to tackle the fire. A cordon was set up for safety while dealing with the incident.
Neighbouring properties were checked for signs of smoke and fire spread, and a thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots in and around the property affected. Firefighters cut away at affected areas in the property to prevent fire spread.
Police were also in attendance.

Crews were also called out to deal with fires in the open.
At 18:38 one crew from Penketh attended reports of a fire in the open on Knutsford Road.
Firefighters used a water backpack to extinguish a small fire in the open in Warrington.
Then at 20:53 one crew from Warrington attended a fire in the open on Radley Lane.
Firefighters used a water backpack to extinguish a small fire that was left unattended.
