LENGTHY delays were reported on the M56 near Warrington during this morning’s rush hour following a multi-vehicle collision and a vehicle breakdown.
Delays of 45 minutes to an hour were reported as the motorway was closed eastbound following the collision.
One of three lanes was then closed after the vehicles had been moved.
Further delays were caused when a vehicle broke down.
There was also a serious collision on the M62 near Warrington last night northbound between J22 Winwick and J23 Haydock.
