ONE casualty was taken to hospital after firefighters used specialist equipment to remove the roof of a car following a two vehicle collision on Birchwood Way, Warrington, earlier today, Monday.
Shortly after 9am three fire crews from Birchwood, Warrington, Lymm and the the major rescue unit from Lymm attened reports of a collision on Birchwood way.
The road traffic collision involved one car and one flatbed lorry. Two lanes were closed while crews dealt with the scene.
Firefighters used specialist equipment to remove the roof of the car to rescue one casualty, who was medically trapped. The casualty was then handed into the care of paramedics.
The expressway was closed throughout the morning between the M62 and Daten Avenue.
It has bnow reopened after the car was recovered from the scene.
