UPDATE: Kingsway North in Warrington has reopened following a collision involving a car and a woman.
Emergency services were called to the scene near the junction of King Edward Street at around 8.30am.
Cheshire Police say the incident involved a Volkswagen Beetle and a woman, who was a runner, has been taken to Aintree Hospital.
Police and paramedics attended the scene and the road was closed from the junction with Manchester Road.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson confirmed: “At 8.32am on Friday 25 April police were called to a collision on Kingsway North, Warrington.
“Officers attended and found there had been a collision between a pedestrian and a black Volkswagen Beetle, near to the junction of Manchester Road.
“The pedestrian has been taken to Aintree Hospital; her injuries are not believed to be life threatening at this time. The driver of the car was uninjured.
“The road was closed while officers dealt with the collision, it reopened at 9.02am.”
