DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses and video footage after a teenage boy was stabbed during a serious assault at Latchford, Warrington on Monday this week.
At around 1.20 pm on Monday 21 April, police were called to reports of an assault on Knutsford Road, Latchford.
Officers attended and found that a 16-year-old boy had been stabbed by an unknown man sometime between 12.30 pm and 1.20 pm, near to the footpath onto New Road.
The suspect was described as a white man with a goatee beard who was wearing a black Adidas tracksuit with his hood up.
The victim was taken to hospital for treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life-changing.
Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the incident and officers are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
Detective Constable Will Austin, of Warrington CID, said:“I’d like to reassure the residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident and we are committed to doing all we can to establish exactly what took place.
“We’ve already spoken to a number of witnesses as part of our investigation, and I would like to thank the local community for the support provided.
“As part of ongoing enquiries, we’re keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident, or anyone with any CCTV or dashcam footage which may aid the investigation.
“I’d urge anyone with any information, no matter how small, to contact the team here at Warrington.”
