POLICE have issued a warning over distraction burglary attempts by bogus British Gas officials operating in the Warrington area.
They have had reports of criminals posing as British Gas officials or contractors attending to service boilers in the Latchford and Central areas of the town.
It is unknown whether they are targeting renters who may not know if the Landlord has any maintenance plan in place or whether they are just casting a net to see what they can haul in.
Police advise that Your Landlord will always inform you of any work to be done.
Suspicious activity can be reported on 101 or 999 in an emergency or via the Cheshire Police website.
