WARRINGTON Youth Zone is throwing open its doors today, Saturday, March 29, for a special National Youth Strategy Consultation Juniors Open Day, welcoming children aged 7 to 12 and their families to experience a fun-filled day of activities, engagement and the opportunity to see what is on offer.
The event, taking place from 11:00am to 3:00pm at Warrington Youth Zone on Dallam Lane, is part of a nationwide consultation to hear directly from young people about what they want from the government’s new youth strategy.
Local MP for Warrington South, Sarah Hall, will join the event to hear from children and their parents about the experiences, opportunities and challenges they face, and how national policy can better support them.
Entry is free and open to parents or carers with children over the age of seven, with a members-only session for senior members from 4:00pm. Families can expect a friendly, welcoming atmosphere with plenty of fun activities, new experiences, and a chance to make new friends.
Sarah said:“It’s so important that young people in Warrington have the chance to shape the decisions that affect their lives. I’m really pleased to be joining the Youth Zone for this special consultation open day, hearing directly from children and families about their priorities, hopes and ideas.
“Whether it’s access to safe spaces, support with mental health or simply having somewhere to belong, I want to make sure their voices are at the heart of the national conversation.”
Chief Executive Officer, Dave McNichol from Warrington Youth Zone said: “Trying something new can feel daunting, but our team is here to make every child feel at home. The Juniors Open Day is a brilliant way to show what Warrington Youth Zone is all about — fun, friendship, and having a voice that counts.”
