FIREFIGHTERS were called out to reports of a fire on a canal embankment near the Cantilever Bridge at Stockton Heath, Warrington, earlier today, Wednesday.
At 12:58 one fire engine from Warrington responded to reports of a fire on the canal embankment.
The fire near the Manchester Ship Canal required firefighters to attend and use a hose reel to extinguish it. The area measured approximately 10 metres by 5 metres and involved undergrowth.
It is believed the fire may have started due the sun shining on discarded glass bottles.
