A number of jobs are to go in the administration department at the privately run Cheshire Spire Hospital at Stretton, Warrington.

The number of jobs to go has not been confirmed by Spire Healthcare who run the hospital, but one of those affected, who contacted Warrington Worldwide, understands it is between 20-30 jobs in the administration department.

A Spire Healthcare spokesperson was unable to confirm the number of jobs affected but said: “Proposed changes are being made to a number of administrative roles at Spire Cheshire Hospital to help us meet the evolving needs of our patients and to ensure we continue to deliver outstanding personalised care.
“We will fully support colleagues through this process by offering help to find their next role whether that be within or outside Spire; time off to attend interviews if needed; and full support from a wellbeing perspective.”

Spire cared for 1.3m NHS and private patients in 2024.
An annual colleague survey in 2024 showed that 76% were proud to work for Spire and the organisation had the highest levels of colleague retention and clinical turnover rate was at all-time low of 11.5%
Spire also has one of largest nurse apprenticeship programmes – 117 colleagues graduated from Spire’s own apprenticeship programme
A Spire colleague was also named 2025 Allied Health Degree Apprentice of the Year at the University of Salford Apprenticeship Awards.
