GLORIOUS sunshine ensured a fantastic turnout for the annual St Patrick’s Day Parade organised by Warrington Irish Club.

Walkers were joined by the Mayor of Warrington Cllr Wendy Johnson and the town’s two MPs, Charlotte Nichols and Sarah Hall and Warrington Wolves’ mascot Wolfie.

Commenting on the St Patrick’s Day parade, Ms Nichols said: “A fantastic turnout in the sunshine for the St Patrick’s Day parade with Warrington Irish Club – one of my favourite events in our annual civic calendar! It was wonderful to see Sarah Hall MP and Mayor of Warrington come along to support the day too, and of course, Wolfie.
She added: ” I was do impressed with the dancers from Robinson Irish Dance Academy who will soon be off to Dublin for the World Championships- if their dancing is anywhere near as good as it was today, no doubt they’ll be bringing the silverware home with them!”
The walkers stopped at the River of Life on Bridge Street, where flowers were laid in memory of Tim Parry and Johnathan Ball, who were killed by the IRA bomb attack on the town in March 1993, 32 years ago this coming Thursday.
