David Wilson Homes has donated £500 to Birchwood C of E Primary School in Warrington, supporting the school’s outdoor play scheme, as it attempts to transform lunchtime play to make fun activities accessible to all students.
The donation from the housebuilder, also based in Warrington, will go towards the school’s Outdoor Play and Learning (OPAL) scheme. The school will be looking to purchase wellington boots for all students so that they can access all spaces of the school at lunchtime.
It will also be looking to purchase waterproof trousers for children as there are plans to create a mud digging pit, sand pit and a water area for the children to play in.
Stephen Latham, Headteacher of Birchwood C of E Primary School, said: “As a former David Wilson homeowner myself, I am fully aware of how supportive a company it is and this generous donation further emphasises its commitment to supporting its customers and the community around its developments.
“We are extremely grateful that we have been selected to receive this donation and we will ensure that it is put to good use in order to provide the very best opportunities for the children within our school.”
