UPDATED: ONE man was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a two-vehicle collision early on Southworth Lane, Winwick. .
A Fire engine from Warrington is also at the scene and firefighters are clearing debris from the road following the collision near the junction with Delph Lane and making sure the vehicles are safe.
The air ambulance landed near the scene following reports of one person trapped.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said:”At 7.15am on Wednesday 19 February police were called to a collision on Southworth Lane, Warrington.
Officers attended and found the collision involved two cars.
One man has been taken to Salford Royal hospital with serious injuries.”
The road was eventually re-opened at around 3pm.
