PROPOSALS to change the use of a disused warehouse at Appleton Thorn have been rejected by borough council planners at Warrington.
They claim the application by Rhodar Industrial Services for Lexia House, on Lyncastle Way, Appleton Thorn do not demonstrate that there is enough on-site parking for the number of staff proposed.
The proposal is to change the use of the warehouse to a mixed use building, including offices.
But planners say there is insufficient information about disabled parking spaces, cycle parking, electric vehicle charging and services for the proposed development.
There is also no indication of the number of employees expected on the site, despite an indication of seating for 45 people.
The applicants pointed out the warehouse is within an established industrial area and close to the M6 and M56, providing access to the wider area. The building was previously used for storage.
