TWO fire crews were called out to tackle a fire involving a HGV on the M62 at Warrington.
Shortly before 6 pm yesterday, Thursday, crews from Warrington and Penketh attended reports of a fire involving a HGV on M62 between junction 8 and junction 9.
Crews were called after smoke was seen coming from underneath a heavy goods vehicle. Firefighters used two hose reel jets to cool the vehicle’s brakes.
The vehicle was moved from the hard shoulder of the motorway to a nearby service station.
