POLICE arrested the “idiot of the year” after a shop worker was assaulted in Warrington town centre.
The award for “idiot of the year so far” was awarded to the male who stole alcohol from a town centre shop and assaulted a member of staff and then then sat on a bench around the corner drinking the evidence as police arrived!
Local police posted news of the crime on social media awarding the alleged thief with the “idiot of the year” title and saying it was “proof that alcohol does ruin your judgement.”
They added: “We will not tolerate any attack on shop staff who are just trying to do a job.”
Two further males were also arrested and recalled to prison for seperate issues in the town centre.
