A STUDENT has helped with the rebrand of a youth rowing organisation that has become popular across the region.
John Sutton stepped in after Warrington Youth Rowing approached Priestley College looking for help in its transition to becoming All Aboard Youth Rowing.
The former Bridgewater High pupil worked in his own time on the project and created something about which both he and the charity can be extremely proud.
“I think the key thing in my job is to clearly represent what the brand stands for and to meet the client brief,” said John, who studies Graphic Design & Photography at Priestley.
“In this case they were looking for a fresh, modern approach and to move away from what other rowing groups are doing to help them stand out.”
All Aboard approached Priestley College after a former student designed their previous logo.
The charity has since expanded its membership to different geographical areas so leaders felt its name and brand needed to evolve to reflect this.
John’s logo has two As built into it and is designed to look like the front of a rowing boat. A ripple of water also hints at what the organisation is all about.
It can now be seen on the charity’s website, social media and more than 1,000 items of clothing produced each year.
Richard Sinnott, CEO of All Aboard Youth Rowing, said he was delighted with the final outcome.
“We were introduced to John and after a couple of face-to-face meetings we agreed on our new logo,” he said. “The design is very professional and has been very well received by everybody who has seen it.”
