POLICE have issued a warning over an ATM skimmer device found on a cash machine in Warrington town centre.
The ‘skimmer’ type device was fitted to a Town Centre ATM on Wednesday morning, the offenders using it to obtain the victim’s card and funds from his account.
Police issued a warning stating: “Have a good physical and visual check of any ATM you use, keeping an eye out for anything that appears like it does not belong.
“Also, be aware of anyone hanging around in your vicinity – they may be trying to obtain your PIN.
“If in doubt, don’t make the withdrawal and report it to your bank. You can also report any suspicious activity to us via 101 or via https://www.cheshire.police.uk/ro/report/
