A full road closure was in place on Tarporley Road near Stretton, Warrington, last night as firefighters helped remove a trapped casualty after a car collided with a tree.
At 23:18 three crews, one from Lymm and two from Northwich, were called to reports of a single vehicle collision on Tarporley Road. The North West Air Amulance also attended at the scene.
One casualty was in need of being rescued from the vehicle. Firefighters used hydraulic equipment to remove the door. Police and North West Ambulance Service are also in attendance and a full road closure was in place while the incident was dealt with.
At 23:51 Firefighters released the casualty and assisted paramedics to remove them from the vehicle.
A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “At 11.15pm on Thursday 5 December police were called to reports of a collision on the A49 Tarporley Road, near to Bartington Crossroads.
“Officers attended and found a red BMW 118S Sport Coupe had collided with a tree.
“One man was trapped in the car, he was released by firefighters before being taken to Aintree Hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening or life changing.”
