TRAIN operator Northern has issued a reminder to employees of registered charities that they are eligible for 25 per cent off travel on their 2,500 services a day across the North of England.
The saving, which is delivered in partnership with Network – a company that specialises in employee discounts and benefits, is available via the Charity Worker Discounts website.
The company issued the reminder to mark the start of UK Charity Week (December 2-6), an annual campaign designed to raise awareness of the contribution that charities make to UK public life.

Stuart Taylor, head of commercial development at Northern, said: “We’re very proud that, through our partnership with Network, we’re able to offer this 25% discount to employees of registered charities.”
Northern announced the 25% discount in March 2023 as part of a scheme that gives the same discount to registered carers, NHS workers and teachers.
Taylor added: “As it has been a while since we launched the scheme, we wanted to remind charity workers that the discount is available – and UK Charity Week seemed the perfect opportunity. As with any discount, it’s only useful if you know about it!”
