On Sunday 1st December St Rocco’s Hospice will be celebrating 10 years of Strictly St Rocco’s.
To make this year the biggest and best event yet, they are inviting people to join them from the comfort of their own home. Get together with friends and family and host your own Strictly party! There will be a live stream of contestants’ performances live on St Rocco’s Facebook page and for the first time, you can have your say and vote for your favourite couple by text to donate on the night At the end of the evening, you will get to see the winning couple declared and presented with the Strictly St Rocco’s glitter ball trophy.
You can also get involved by taking part in the silent auction which will open online on Sunday 24th November when you will have the opportunity to browse a fantastic variety of gifts and experiences. You will find a selection of items sourced by St Rocco’s where 100% of the proceeds will go directly to the hospice. There will also be some items with a set reserve price and any amount above this that is raised will also be donated to the hospice. The auction will close towards the end of the evening of Strictly St Rocco’s and winning bidders will be notified.
Over the last decade, Strictly St Rocco’s has raised £700,000 towards patient care at the hospice. This money has had a huge impact on the care and services delivered to people with a terminal diagnosis across Warrington. During this time, St Rocco’s has cared for over 2,000 patients on their inpatient ward, answered tens of thousands of calls to their palliative care hub and delivered many other appointments, drop-in sessions, and counselling services. This specialist care would not be possible without the generosity of the Warrington community and the dedication of those that support them. By taking part in Strictly St Rocco’s, you will be helping to fund the hospice when they need you most.
St Rocco’s would like to thank Greenalls who are sponsoring the event and a special thank you also goes out to the 90 brave dancers that have taken part over the last 10 years and to Cadmans Dance Centre who have supported the event year after year, putting on a spectacular show. Victoria Millward, Principle and Owner of Cadmans said, “It has been a privilege supporting Strictly St Rocco’s over the last 10 years. Our team at Cadmans have enjoyed teaching a new skill to many of the dancers and it is a fabulous feeling, seeing all the practice come together on the night.”
