Police appeal for witnesses as two die in fatal collision

UPDATED: POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two people sadly died in a fatal road traffic collision near Warrington, last night, Sunday.

At 18:14 three fire crews from Warrington, Runcorn and Lymm attended a serious two-vehicle collision at the junction of Hobb Lane and Chester Road.

The road was closed while firefighters released a number of casualties that were trapped in vehicles and they were taken to hospital. Sadly a 65-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman died at the scene.

Police this morning launched an appeal for witnesses following the collision involving a white Seat Leon and a silver Nissan Note on the A56 Chester Road, Walton.

The driver of the Seat, a 65-year-old man, and the rear seat passenger of the Nissan, a 42-year-old woman, sadly died at the scene.

Two other passengers in the Nissan were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
