A bus driver from Warrington has admitted dangerous driving following a collision involving a young cyclist.
William Brennan aged 75, appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court facing three motoring charges which he admitted.
Brennan, of Grasmere Avenue, Poplars and Hulme, Warrington, pleaded guilty to driving a red double-decker Volvo bus dangerously on Acorn Street and Wargrave Road, Newton-le-Willows on April 18 this year.
He also pleaded guilty to failing to stop after a road accident in which personal injury was caused – shock following the collision – and he admitted failing to report the accident.
His solicitor Jed Howard said that it had been “a very short-lived incident” and fortunately no injuries were caused.
“This is a man of hitherto good character and he is still employed,” he said.
Magistrates agreed that a report should be prepared and Brennan who was remanded on bail to await sentence on December 2.

Should not be still employed especially at his age.. Probably didn’t even know he’d hit someone.
