TWO goals in each half saw Warrington Rylands through to the next round of the Isuzu FA Trophy by beating Ossett United 4-0 at The Hive Arena on Saturday.
Manager Neil Reynolds felt his lads played excellently and showed confidence and belief. The changing room was ‘buzzing’ but he has warned them not to become complacent
Ossett are currently sitting bottom of the NPL Division One East and came as the underdogs, but did not lie down and allow Rylands to walk all over them. Even though the home side dominated the match it took until the 38th minute before an amazing shot by Ben Hardcastle beat Aleks Petrovic in ‘The Blackbirds’ goal. Four minutes later George Waring jumped high to head the second from a corner.

After 2 months on the side lines following a hip injury damaged during training, Jake Burton returned for the last 15 minutes and instantly created problems in front of goal with his penetrating runs.
A Burton shot fell to Man of the Match Jake Daniels who tapped it home for the third of the match and in injury time Daniels’ shot was blocked with Leslie Adekoya in the right place to score the fourth from the deflection.
Rylands face Skelmersdale United on Tuesday night at 7:45pm in the Liverpool County Cup at The Hive Arena. Skem are struggling at the bottom of the North West Counties First Division North and will also be the underdogs, but Reno says “I want to win all the time, doesn’t matter if it’s Tiddly Winks against my son or football in the County Cup.”
