POLICE would like help in identifying the women in the above CCTV stills, believed to have been involved in a distraction theft of £4,000 from a man in a wheelchair.

The Warrington Town Centre Beat Team has grounds to suspect them to be responsible for a ‘Bank Follow and Distraction Theft’ that took place on Monday 14th October 2024 at approximately 1130 hours in the Legh Street Golden Square Car Park.

On this occasion, they have followed a male in wheelchair from Barclays Bank on Market Gate to his car, then distracted him in the car park whilst he was stowing his wheelchair. They have left town with £4000 of his money.
Police know that they boarded a taxi that they took to the area of Whitworth Street off Manchester Road – and believe this taxi would have been in this area at approximately 1205 hours on the 14th. They doubt the women are residents of this area.
If you can help please contact the police on on 101 or email [email protected] and quote 24000875860. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
