THE Live at St Wilfrid’s concert series resumes tonight (Thursday) at St Wilfrid’s Church, Grappenhall, after its usual summer break.
It is now more than 31 years since the organisation started presenting quality music of various genres in Grappenhall and tonight’s concert will feature the Hathor Duo, an award winning flute and harp duo consisting of Lucy Nolan and Meera Maharaj.
Much in demand throughout the UK the pair regularly at venues such as the Royal Albert Hall.
Meera, a graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, was a first prize winner at both the Dutch International Flute competition and the Royal Academy of Music flute prize.
Lucy, an alumnus of Oxford University, is the holder of a number of prizes and was a finalist in the Royal Northern College of Music Gold Medal weekend.
The concert starts at 7.30pm.
On October 17, PIVA, the Renaissance Collective, will be presenting a programme of early music, including popular dance and ballad music from the late 16th century
