Further expansion plans at Lymm Truckwash

LYMM Truckwash is celebrating another successful year of trade, with plans to expand the Poplar Park site to meet increased customer demand and ensure driver waiting times are kept to a minimum.

The largest and oldest truck wash in Europe – Located on the M6/M56 intersection, Lymm Truckwash is a family-run business. Following what the team has reported as a very successful year, the truck wash is now in the planning process of adding three brand-new wash bays to accommodate high customer turnover and increasing demand from drivers from both the UK and Europe.

Washing over 60,000 trucks a year, Lymm Truckwash’s customers range from owner-drivers to major fleet operators such as DHL, Manfreight, BM Transport, Hoyer, XPO and GXO. First opened by husband-and-wife team John and Anne Cardwell in 1967, the business is now run by their daughter, Laura Cardwell, who has taken the business to new heights following a relocation to its new, purpose-built site at Poplar Park.

Having noted increasingly high demand last year, especially at peak times, the team have planned an on-site expansion with the addition of three new wash bays. This will ensure that driver waiting times and any queues are kept to a minimum, whilst also ensuring regular and new customers receive the best service. This expansion will see the site now offer 7 wash bays in total.

Laura Cardwell, Managing Director of Lymm Truckwash, said: “Washing around 60,400 trucks last year, we have entered 2024 busier than ever. The HGV community is importance to us, and we want to offer a consistently great service to our returning customers, as well as a few extras on us such as our free tea or coffee and air freshener, plus our driver/customer days.
“Having listened to recent feedback and spotted issues around availability at peak times, we see it fitting to add another three wash bays to our offering. We’re so grateful for this continued business and will continue to listen to how we can improve year-on-year.”

The team also have an exciting events calendar planned for 2024, including the return of their ‘Drivers Day’ on April 11th. This year, from 10am-3pm, customers will have the opportunity to view the new Jost KKS Push Button Innovative Automatic Coupling System, as well as receive free merchandise and light refreshments. On May 22nd – 23rd, the team will also welcome for the first time Mercedes Benz and their latest Actros trucks, with free merchandise available.
Lymm Truckwash will be attending a new truck show this year, the Kelsall Steam Rally which falls on June 22nd – 23rd. Then their annual stall at the North West TruckFest in Knutsford from September 14th – 15th is also set to return.
