Six arrested after reported gun sighting at Longford

SIX people were arrested after armed police were called out to Longford, Warrington, following a reported gun sighting.

The incident happened on Poole Avenue last week, with police today confirming six people had been arrested and since released on bail, pending further investigations.

A Cheshire police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 1 pm on Tuesday, March 19, police spotted two men in a vehicle in the Longford area of Warrington who appeared to be in possession of a weapon.

“Officers traced the vehicle to an address in Poole Avenue and subsequently attended the address, where they arrested six people in relation to a number of offences.
“All six people have since been released on bail.
“Enquiries are currently ongoing.”
