Prolific offender who stole from cars jailed

A prolific offender who stole from parked cars at Stockton Heath, Warrington, has been jailed.

Lesley Murphy, aged 48, of Brick Street, Warrington, was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison by Warrington magistrates this week having after admitting three counts of theft from motor vehicle and one count of attempted theft from a vehicle.

The court heard Murphy had 29 previous convictions for 70 offences, mostly relating to theft.

The offences were committed last November when Murphy travelled from her home in Warrington to steal from parked vehicles in Stockton Heath.
